Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade network hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and PRTG to identify and resolve bottlenecks
- Implement security protocols including VLAN segmentation, VPN configurations, and intrusion prevention systems
- Document network topologies, configurations, and incident reports using ServiceNow
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex network issues requiring advanced troubleshooting
- Collaborate with cloud teams to hybridize on-premises and AWS/Azure environments
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Network Engineering or related field (CCNP/CompTIA Network+ preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper enterprise networking equipment
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and advanced routing protocols
- Certification in network security (e.g., Security+, CEH) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Demonstrated experience with virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Strong analytical skills for diagnosing intermittent connectivity issues
- Ability to lift 50lbs and work in server environments when required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license for occasional client site visits
