As a Network Technician, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our client's network infrastructure. You will work in a collaborative environment where your technical expertise will directly impact business continuity and growth.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
- Perform routine network maintenance and ensure system performance by identifying and resolving software and hardware issues.
- Assist in the physical and logical design of network infrastructure, including cabling, patching, and rack-and-stack operations.
- Monitor network traffic and security to identify potential vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with IT policies.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users regarding network connectivity and hardware usage.
- Document network configurations, changes, and maintenance logs accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or CCNP are a strong plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in network administration or technical support.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, OSPF, BGP).
- Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites within the Pittsburgh area.
