Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Cisco Prime to ensure optimal uptime
- Diagnose and resolve network outages, security breaches, and connectivity issues
- Document network changes, configurations, and maintenance activities using ITIL-compliant practices
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement VLAN segmentation and access control policies
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for enterprise clients via phone, email, and on-site visits
- Assist in network capacity planning and technology refresh initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Network Engineering or related field (CCNA/CompTIA Network+ preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco routers/switches and Palo Alto firewalls
- Proficiency in TCP/IP protocols, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies
- Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex network issues
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license and ability to travel within the Milwaukee metro area
- CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent cybersecurity knowledge
- Familiarity with VMware vSphere and hyper-converged infrastructure
