Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark to ensure optimal uptime
- Resolve network outages and security incidents with rapid troubleshooting protocols
- Document network architecture changes using Visio and service management systems
- Collaborate with cloud teams to hybridize network solutions across AWS/Azure platforms
- Implement cybersecurity best practices including VLAN segmentation and IDS/IPS deployment
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex network issues and mentor junior technicians
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Network Engineering or equivalent certification (CCNA, Network+)
- 3+ years experience with Cisco/Juniper routing and switching technologies
- Expertise in TCP/IP protocols, DNS, DHCP, and VPN implementation
- Proficiency in network automation tools (Ansible, Python) for configuration management
- Strong knowledge of network security principles including firewalls and intrusion detection
- Experience with network monitoring platforms (NPM, PRTG) and capacity planning
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multi-vendor environments
- Valid driver's license for occasional on-site client visits
