Responsibilities
- Security Monitoring: Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM systems (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Incident Response Support: Assist senior analysts in the investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents and breaches.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct basic vulnerability scans and assist in the prioritization and remediation of identified security weaknesses.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date security logs, incident reports, and configuration documentation.
- Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
- Training: Participate in and facilitate cybersecurity awareness training sessions for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred; willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and VPNs.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with basic scripting (Python or Bash) and Linux command line operations.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion: A genuine interest in cybersecurity trends and a desire to continuously learn new technologies.
