Responsibilities
- Conduct horizon scanning for emerging technologies (quantum computing, AI ethics, neurotech, etc.) and assess commercial viability
- Develop and maintain a 5-year strategic technology roadmap aligned with business objectives
- Lead cross-functional innovation workshops to identify disruptive opportunities
- Establish partnerships with research institutions and technology incubators
- Produce thought leadership content including trend reports and industry presentations
- Advise executive team on technology investments and risk mitigation strategies
- Mentor R&D teams in future-tech integration and adoption methodologies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning or innovation management
- Expertise in emerging tech trends with published thought leadership
- Proven experience developing multi-year technology roadmaps
- Strong network in Silicon Valley tech ecosystems and research communities
- Advanced degree in Technology Strategy, Futures Studies, or related field
- Experience with scenario planning and technology impact assessment frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex tech concepts into business strategy
- Certification in Futures Thinking or Technology Foresight preferred
