Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Events: Analyze alerts from SIEM systems (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Incident Response: Assist in the triage, containment, and remediation of cybersecurity incidents and security breaches.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular scans and assessments to identify system weaknesses and ensure timely patching.
- User Access Control: Manage and audit user permissions to enforce the principle of least privilege across corporate networks.
- Compliance Reporting: Generate and maintain reports on security posture, incidents, and compliance status (GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).
- Security Awareness: Participate in creating educational materials to improve the security posture of the organization and its employees.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field. (Students graduating in 2024/2025 are encouraged to apply).
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or Network+ is highly preferred (training provided).
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP), Windows/Linux operating systems, and basic scripting (Python or Bash).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting incidents and reporting to stakeholders.
- Availability: Ability to work in a 24/7/365 Security Operations Center (SOC) environment on rotating shifts.
