Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing initiatives
- Document security incidents and contribute to incident response reports
- Implement security controls and configurations following CIS benchmarks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security awareness training
- Research emerging threats and contribute to threat intelligence databases
- Participate in security audits and compliance reviews (NIST, ISO 27001)
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent foundational certification preferred
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking concepts
- Basic understanding of security frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
