Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Document security incidents and participate in incident response
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Collaborate on threat intelligence research and mitigation strategies
- Support compliance initiatives (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Conduct security awareness training for employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or pursuing)
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows operating systems
- Understanding of common security frameworks (NIST, OWASP)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain government security clearance (if required)
