Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events within the SIEM environment (Splunk, QRadar).
- Perform daily vulnerability assessments and security scans to identify potential threats.
- Contribute to the documentation of security incidents, playbooks, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in penetration testing exercises and red team/blue team operations under supervision.
- Investigate suspicious network traffic and malware artifacts using forensic tools.
- Collaborate with senior analysts to implement security patches and configuration changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPNs).
- CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification is highly preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 SOC environment.
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows command line and scripting (Bash/PowerShell) is a plus.
- Passion for cybersecurity and a desire to learn about emerging threats and attack vectors.
