Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Monitor and analyze security alerts and events within the SIEM environment to identify potential threats.
- Incident Response: Assist in the identification, containment, and remediation of security incidents and potential breaches.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct routine vulnerability scans and support penetration testing efforts to strengthen our defenses.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, security documentation, and incident reports in compliance with internal policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and the wider IT team to improve threat detection capabilities and patch management processes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI Model, DNS, HTTP).
- Scripting: Familiarity with basic scripting languages (Python or Bash) is a significant plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
