Responsibilities
- Monitor & Analyze: Respond to alerts and investigate potential security incidents within the SIEM environment in real-time.
- Vulnerability Management: Assist in identifying, assessing, and remediating system vulnerabilities using industry-standard tools.
- Incident Response: Support the Incident Response team in containment and eradication of cyber threats.
- Security Audits: Participate in regular security assessments and compliance audits to ensure adherence to standards (NIST, ISO 27001).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation to support forensic analysis.
- User Support: Educate staff on security best practices and assist in resolving minor security-related issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or Network+ is highly preferred.
- Networking Knowledge: Basic understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and network protocols.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Linux/Windows command line and basic scripting (PowerShell or Python).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
- Drive: A genuine interest in cybersecurity trends and a desire to learn continuously.
