Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and SIEM dashboards to identify potential threats
- Assist in implementing security controls and maintaining compliance with NIST frameworks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing under guidance
- Document security incidents and contribute to forensic investigations
- Participate in security awareness training for employees
- Stay current on emerging threats through research and industry reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to harden network infrastructure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Basic understanding of networking protocols and TCP/IP
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) or firewalls
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for clearance
- 0-2 years of relevant internship or academic experience
