Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Analyze security incidents and generate detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Assist with compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR) documentation
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices across cloud/on-prem environments
- Participate in security awareness training for employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or CEH certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Understanding of common cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
