Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) during overnight shifts
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware outbreaks and unauthorized access attempts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop incident response playbooks
- Generate comprehensive security reports and executive dashboards
- Stay current with emerging threats and countermeasures via continuous training
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with night shift or 24/7 operations background
- CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Proficiency in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Nessus)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and containerized environments
- Strong analytical skills with ability to prioritize high-volume alerts
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
- Excellent written communication for incident documentation
- Must pass background check and obtain government clearance if required
