Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts across SIEM platforms during weekend shifts, initiating rapid response protocols
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on client networks and applications
- Develop and implement security automation scripts for threat detection and mitigation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during incident response activations and forensic investigations
- Document security incidents, forensic findings, and remediation actions in compliance with NIST standards
- Stay current with emerging threats and attack vectors through continuous research and training
- Maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations with weekend shift experience preferred
- Active CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar), penetration testing (Metasploit, Burp Suite)
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust architecture
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61, ISO 27035)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during high-stakes scenarios
- Valid U.S. government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
