Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and investigate suspicious activities during night shift hours
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and coordinate rapid incident response protocols
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
- Generate detailed security reports and executive summaries for leadership review
- Collaborate with day shift teams to ensure seamless security operations handovers
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat actor tactics through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with night shift or rotational shift preference
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence tools
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61, ISO 27035)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security data
- Valid U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration
