Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analysis to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in network architecture.
- Manage and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation (e.g., HIPAA, NIST).
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of servers, networks, and applications.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to recommend proactive improvements.
- Assist in the design and deployment of security tools and monitoring solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Valid Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network security.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar) and endpoint detection systems (EDR).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and encryption standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
