Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on Alaskan infrastructure
- Incident response coordination and forensic analysis during security breaches
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures for state systems
- Collaborate with federal agencies on threat intelligence sharing
- Perform security audits and compliance reviews (NIST, FISMA)
- Train staff on cybersecurity best practices and protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in operational roles
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Expertise in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Knowledge of Alaskan critical infrastructure security requirements
- Strong incident response and forensics capabilities
- Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and network architecture
