Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts to enhance threat detection capabilities
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across cloud and on-premise environments
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders and leadership teams
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat intelligence to proactively defend against zero-day vulnerabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related technical field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat detection environments
- Professional certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GIAC preferred)
- Expertise in network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and security tools (IDS/IPS, firewalls)
- Strong scripting abilities in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation tasks
- Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS Security Hub, Azure Sentinel, GCP Security Command Center)
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure security incidents with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
