Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS standards
- Document security incidents, create incident response reports, and recommend remediation actions
- Stay current with emerging threats and adapt security protocols accordingly
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex security escalations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations centers (SOC)
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and security tools
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Cortex)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to prioritize incidents in real-time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance
