Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate potential threats using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct incident response procedures including containment, eradication, and recovery
- Analyze network traffic and system logs to detect anomalous activities
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks and reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing as required
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security operations
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms, firewalls, and endpoint protection tools
- Strong understanding of network protocols and system architectures
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 SOC environment
