Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and develop comprehensive incident response plans
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure and applications
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Generate detailed security reports and executive dashboards for stakeholders
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in threat detection tools (Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks)
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust architecture
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
