In this pivotal role, you will serve as the first line of defense against cyber threats, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement security measures that drive business value without hindering operational agility.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security systems in real-time to identify and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing to ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
- Manage and configure firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Investigate security incidents, perform forensics, and lead the remediation process to prevent future breaches.
- Collaborate with IT and software development teams to integrate security controls into the development lifecycle.
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats and security technologies to recommend proactive improvements.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a similar IT role.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm, QRadar).
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH are strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible working schedule and work independently when required.
