Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses.
- Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security controls.
- Develop and update incident response plans to mitigate risks effectively.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Conduct security awareness training for employees to reduce human error.
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch systems and secure endpoints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity or SOC environment.
- Professional certification such as CISSP, Security+, or CEH is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud security (AWS/Azure).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
