Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using SIEM platforms (Splunk/Symantec)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on enterprise systems
- Develop and implement security policies aligned with NIST and CIS frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to harden network defenses and prevent breaches
- Analyze threat intelligence and provide actionable recommendations to leadership
- Document security incidents and maintain compliance with federal regulations
- Mentor junior analysts and participate in cross-functional security initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SOC operations
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, or CEH preferred
- Proficiency in network security tools (Firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN)
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems and cloud environments (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with incident response protocols and threat hunting
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (sponsibility provided)
- Excellent analytical skills and written communication abilities
