Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and neutralize threats in real-time
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network systems and applications
- Lead incident response activities including forensic investigation, containment, and recovery
- Develop and implement security controls aligned with NIST and CIS frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure architecture design and deployment
- Generate comprehensive security reports and executive dashboards
- Stay current with emerging threats and zero-day vulnerabilities
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC, incident response, or security operations
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and endpoint protection platforms
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and common attack vectors
- Ability to work under pressure during critical security incidents
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel to client sites
