Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for anomalous activity and potential threats
- Conduct incident response investigations, including forensic analysis and containment protocols
- Implement and maintain security controls such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection platforms
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and update security documentation, including incident response plans and risk assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud security frameworks
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms and malware analysis techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and during security incidents
