Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement remediation
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network assets
- Develop and maintain security documentation (playbooks, policies, procedures)
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend proactive defense measures
- Ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and industry-specific regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with hands-on incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Windows/Linux systems
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (e.g., Recorded Future)
- Ability to prioritize threats and respond effectively under pressure
- Excellent written/verbal communication for cross-team collaboration
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
