Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
- Generate comprehensive security incident reports and recommend remediation strategies
- Stay updated on emerging threats and threat intelligence through continuous research
- Assist in creating security awareness training programs for employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems, cloud environments (AWS/Azure), and network architecture
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize incidents under pressure
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites within Central Valley
