Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events within the SIEM environment in real-time.
- Conduct daily vulnerability scans and perform risk assessments to identify potential security weaknesses.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.
- Configure and manage network security appliances, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Document security policies, procedures, and incident reports for compliance and audit purposes.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement secure coding practices and infrastructure changes.
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats, malware trends, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network administration.
- Proficiency in using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Clearance to obtain a government background check (Secret/Top Secret) is a plus.
