Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and playbooks aligned with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure and applications
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Generate executive-level security reports and dashboards communicating risk posture
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat intelligence to proactively enhance defenses
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and network security technologies
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and common attack vectors
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing methodologies
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
