Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk/Symantec) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and document detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of network devices and applications
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and compliance frameworks (NIST, HIPAA)
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize security incidents
