Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect potential threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate system weaknesses.
- Investigate, triage, and respond to security incidents in accordance with established protocols and escalation paths.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and network infrastructure.
- Produce and maintain security documentation, including incident reports and risk assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network security.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder management.
