Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities
- Conduct forensic investigations, root cause analysis, and incident response for security breaches
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks, policies, and procedures
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Stay current on emerging threats and security technologies to enhance defense strategies
- Participate in security awareness training and promote security best practices across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools, network analysis (Wireshark), and endpoint protection platforms
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and common attack vectors (phishing, malware, DDoS)
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and compliance frameworks
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats and communicate complex concepts clearly
