Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and investigate potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Respond to security incidents including malware outbreaks, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access attempts
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident response plans and risk assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Analyze security logs and trends to improve threat detection capabilities
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat detection
- Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight)
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security, and threat intelligence
- Experience with incident response and forensic investigation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during security incidents
