Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activities
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents and breaches
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Generate comprehensive security incident reports and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture
- Stay current on emerging threats and vulnerabilities through threat intelligence analysis
- Participate in security audits and compliance assessments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations, SOC, or threat detection roles
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel)
- Experience with network security tools and protocols
- Strong understanding of NIST frameworks and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Ability to obtain government security clearance (required)
