Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events via SIEM tools (Splunk, Azure Sentinel) to identify potential threats in real-time.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, conducting post-incident reviews to improve response protocols.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, HIPAA, and CyberEssentials.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security patches and software updates.
- Conduct security awareness training for staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or cybersecurity role.
- Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GCFA are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI), firewalls, and VPNs.
- Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to critical incidents outside of standard business hours.
