Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and prioritize incident response activities
- Conduct threat hunting and vulnerability assessments across cloud/on-premise environments
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts using Python or PowerShell
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement NIST 800-53 controls and compliance frameworks
- Lead forensic investigations for security breaches and generate executive incident reports
- Stay current on emerging threats through MITRE ATT&CK framework research
- Participate in quarterly penetration testing and red team exercises
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in SOC operations or cybersecurity analysis
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (GIAC preferred)
- Expertise in SIEM tools, network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS), and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and familiarity with Linux/Windows environments
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
