Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to detect potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents, root cause analysis, and implement effective remediation strategies.
- Manage and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPN infrastructure.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Develop and update incident response plans to ensure business continuity during cyberattacks.
- Collaborate with IT and management teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (NIST, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Conduct security awareness training for employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or a related role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows and Linux server administration.
- Proficiency in using security tools including SIEM, EDR, and IDS/IPS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative security team.
