Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure and applications
- Develop and implement incident response plans, coordinating cross-functional teams during security breaches
- Manage security tools including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
- Perform forensic investigations and root cause analysis of security incidents
- Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
- Create detailed security documentation and executive-level threat intelligence reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and security architectures
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure) and container technologies
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
