Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts across SIEM platforms (Splunk/Symantec) to identify and mitigate advanced persistent threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents using tools like Wireshark and FTK Imager
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, incident response plans, and vulnerability assessments
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to implement security controls and harden network perimeters
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing using Nessus/Burp Suite
- Stay current with emerging threats through continuous research and threat intelligence feeds
- Participate in security awareness training for employees and executive stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- Active CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Proficiency in network security tools (Firewall/IDS/IPS configuration)
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and compliance standards (HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and containerized environments
- Excellent written communication skills for reporting complex security issues
- Ability to work rotating shifts in 24/7 security operations environment
