Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) for security anomalies and potential breaches
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents and document detailed reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Develop and execute penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities in systems
- Provide 24/7 on-call rotation for critical security incident response
- Conduct security awareness training for employees to reduce human risk factors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in SOC operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in security tools: Wireshark, Burp Suite, Nessus, and Metasploit
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) architectures
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats in real-time
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (if required for client projects)
