Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and mitigate potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and SOC 2 frameworks
- Develop incident response plans and conduct regular tabletop exercises
- Stay current with emerging threats through continuous research and threat intelligence analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in security operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, network security protocols, and vulnerability scanners
- Strong knowledge of cloud security principles (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust architectures
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats under pressure
- Experience writing security policies, incident reports, and compliance documentation
- Valid driver's license for occasional client site visits in Tulsa metro area
