Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using Splunk and AlienVault SIEM platforms
- Investigate security incidents, determine root causes, and implement containment measures
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on client networks
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks and incident response plans
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and compliance frameworks
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures through ongoing research
- Participate in security awareness training for internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- Strong knowledge of network security principles and industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Proficiency in security tools: SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection
- CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize high-volume security alerts
- Valid US government security clearance preferred
