Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems using SIEM tools to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Investigate security incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, procedures, and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry trends to proactively mitigate risks
- Provide security awareness training to staff and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and security monitoring tools
- CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP certification required
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and encryption technologies
- Experience with threat intelligence frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, STIX/TAXII)
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and make decisive decisions
- Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
