Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms for security incidents and analyze alerts to determine threat relevance
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network systems
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation activities
- Implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST and ISO frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to harden systems against emerging attack vectors
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders
- Research emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- Industry certifications (Security+, CISSP, or CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud architectures, and encryption standards
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize critical alerts
