Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems.
- Develop and update security policies, procedures, and incident response plans to ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST).
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Perform forensic analysis on compromised systems to determine the root cause of security breaches.
- Conduct security awareness training for staff to reduce human error and phishing susceptibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or systems administration.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix).
- Proficiency in using security tools including Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, and Nessus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during security incidents.
- Clearance to work in a federal or high-security environment is a plus.
