Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network systems and applications
- Develop and implement incident response plans, including forensic investigation and recovery procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to configure firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection solutions
- Generate comprehensive security reports and executive dashboards communicating risk posture
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices through continuous research
- Participate in security awareness training programs for employees across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or CompTIA CySA+ (required or obtained within 6 months)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys), and network analysis
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, network architectures, and cloud security frameworks
- Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation and threat hunting
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize high-pressure security incidents
