Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, including malware analysis and root cause determination
- Develop and implement security controls, including firewall rules, IDS/IPS configurations, and endpoint protection
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Generate detailed security reports and executive briefings for stakeholders
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry regulations
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat actor tactics through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or cybersecurity analysis
- Professional certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS tools, and vulnerability scanners
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats in high-pressure environments
